Status logic

When PEP status starts—and when it ends

Dates are office-specific. Announcement, appointment and actual assumption are retained separately instead of being collapsed into one date.

01

Announcement is not enough

A nomination or public announcement alone does not make someone the holder of a listed office. Such people appear separately as announced future.

02

The legal commencement controls

PEP status starts when the office is legally entrusted or assumed: for example appointment, election-result mandate commencement or oath, depending on the governing law.

03

Former status is risk-based

After departure, remaining PEP-specific risks must be considered for at least 12 months and longer while those risks remain. Two years is this research window—not a legal cutoff.
